Meet Shauna, our Medical Aesthetician

Shauna is our full-time medical aesthetician at Lovegrove Dermatology. She has been working in the skincare industry for more than 20 years. It is her pleasure to work with you to achieve your skincare goals. We offer carefully chosen products and aesthetic treatments to complement our medical practice in order to help patients achieve optimal skin health. 

Shauna offers skin care consultations, facials, peels, microneedling, laser treatments and permanent cosmetics. Facial With Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is a no downtime minimally invasive procedure we offer as an add on in our facials. This is a great way to further improve the appearance of sun damage, fine lines, acne scarring, and discoloration. A precision handpiece with an abrasive tip and vacuum gently removes the outer layer of dead skin cells from your skin. This instantly reveals a healthier glow and encourages the renewal of skin cells.

Back Treatments

A “facial” for your back is a great way to deep clean that tough to reach area. This treatment helps to clear up clogged pores and exfoliate the skin.

Microneedling

This resurfacing procedure is excellent to treat discolouration and scarring on the face. We use the Ellipse MicroPen which puts tiny holes in the skin to stimulate collagen regeneration.

IPL

Also known as a photofacial, intense pulsed light is great for “reds” and “browns”. The treatment focuses light energy into these problem areas of the skin leaving you with a more even skin tone. ResurFX

ResurFX is a non-ablative fractionated resurfacing laser. This more intensive resurfacing procedure works beautifully to minimize acne scars, surgical scars, stretchmarks and photoaging. Blue Light Treatment

Blue light treatments are a safe, pain free, no-downtime treatment for acne. POLY-LED treatments can be performed to the face and body to help eliminate acne-causing bacteria from the skin. ResurFX

Permanent Make-Up

Permanent makeup is a safe and natural way to enhance your look. The procedure consists of inserting natural pigments into the deeper layers of the skin where they will not wash off at the end of the day but do naturally fade with time. Touch ups are usually required between 1-3 years. Brows can naturally be filled in. Lash Enhancement is a great way to enhance your lash line without the look of liner. Natural Eyeliner look can be simulated to your preference. Lip Blushing adds a hint of color back to your lip. Topical Anesthetic will be used for your comfort. Pigments will appear sharper and darker during the healing process which is approx 3-5 days.

Areola Repigmentation

Creates a realistic areola after breast reconstruction that can also minimize the appearance of surgical scars. A wonderful way to complete the reconstruction process.

Frequently Asked Questions
    Will I break out after a facial?

        Not necessarily, with a thorough cleaning of your pores your skin does not usually breakout after facials. However there is always a chance of further purging of the skin stimulated by a deep cleaning which in time will leave your skin clearer and brighter.


    Do treatments leave my skin sensitive to the sun?

        Our aesthetics services are designed to leave your skin healthier and more resilient to the elements. However you should avoid the sun in the healing process and protect your skin daily to maintain results.


    Is Permanent Makeup really Permanent?

        Permanent Makeup is considered permanent in the sense that it does not wash off the skin at the end of the day. However touch ups are required every 1-3 years to keep pigments fresh.


    Why should I use medical grade products?

        These products are of the highest grade ingredients and are studied to be proven safe and effective. With more quality and higher percentage active ingredients you are more likely to achieve desired results.
